Our history

dama technologies ag was founded on November 12, 2001 and is based in Lömmenschwil, Switzerland. For over two decades, we have specialized in the manufacture of high-precision grinding and polishing machines that are used worldwide in the precision optics, watch and tool industries.

Our company began with a clear vision: to manufacture grinding and polishing machines that are geared towards the needs of users and work reliably. Thanks to this customer focus, short decision-making processes and a high level of innovation, dama technologies ag has successfully established itself in the industry. Our products are continuously developed and adapted to the individual requirements of our customers.

Foundation of dama technologies ag

dama technologies ag was founded on November 12, 2001 with the aim of developing high-precision machines for processing brittle-hard materials such as glass, ceramics and sapphire. The first machines were primarily designed for precision optics and for the manufacture of sapphire crystals for watches. At the same time, the mechanical processing division was launched for third-party customers in order to utilize production capacity.

Expansion of production

In 2006, dama technologies ag took over part of the production of Saurer embroidery machines and served as their extended workbench. Mechanical processing for third-party customers was expanded.

Investment in new products

Investments in research and development have steadily expanded the product portfolio. The introduction of the modular grinding machine was successfully received by the market.

Growth with high vertical integration

Various new developments based on customer requirements have led to stable and sustainable growth. The high level of vertical integration guarantees consistent quality and a high degree of flexibility in order to be able to respond to customer requirements.

Quality and reliability

We manufacture all our products in Switzerland. We don’t see Swiss Made as a marketing advantage, but as a commitment to producing high-quality machines that we can be proud of. From 2015, the introduction of the modular sanding machine led to strong growth. Production capacities were increasingly used for our own products.

Customer service and service

The best machine is worthless without reliable and fast customer service and support. With the growth in the years 2015-2022, customer service was continuously expanded and investments were made in the spare parts warehouse. Due to the changed market conditions, the proportion of mechanical contract processing for third parties has fallen continuously.
